International Attention for Austria as a Research Destination

What does the future of research look like? And where can international talent find the best conditions to turn innovative ideas into real-world solutions? These questions were at the heart of the second Virtual Research Talk hosted by the Austrian Business Agency (ABA) on 8 October 2026 under the motto “Where Research Meets Opportunities.”

The virtual event brought together international researchers with Austrian research institutions, universities, funding organizations, and innovative companies, showcasing what makes Austria an attractive destination for research: world-class research excellence, strong innovation capabilities, and diverse career opportunities.

The numbers speak for themselves: 198 registrations, including 153 international researchers from 42 countries, underscore Austria’s global appeal as a research hub. In addition, there were 20 collaboration partners and 25 stakeholders from the Austrian research ecosystem. The event thus seamlessly built on the success of its 2025 premiere.
