In the Operations division, we ensure that train and shunting services are carried out safely and punctually, while keeping our customers fully and promptly informed.
Tasks that inspire you:
- You are responsible for the formation and preparation of trains, a key task for ensuring punctual and safe rail operations.
- You record data in our systems, check and process freight documents. Your work is primarily office-based, but you will also work outdoors with the vehicles.

- You handle wagon labelling and always work with a focus on safety and quality.
- When necessary, you assist colleagues with shunting, secure vehicles, or couple stationary wagons.
Your Training
For the training programme to become a Train Preparation Specialist, we are looking for safety-conscious and responsible employees. Over approximately 6 exciting weeks, you will learn the theory at our training centres in Vienna and potentially in other federal states, while gaining practical experience from seasoned colleagues. Upon successfully completing your training and after an intensive regional induction, you will independently take on tasks in train preparation, contributing to smooth operational processes and ensuring safe and punctual rail services across Austria.
Expectations you meet:
- Your German language skills are sufficient to communicate effectively with colleagues via radio.
- Preferably, you have completed vocational training or schooling (apprenticeship, technical college, high school diploma, etc.).
- Heat, cold, dampness, and draughts do not bother you, and you are physically fit.

- You and your family can handle varying working hours in shift work (nights/weekends/public holidays).
