Your Responsibilities

• You review applications for the initial issuance, extension, and renewal of recognition for aeromedical examiners and aeromedical centers
• You conduct professional supervision of aeromedical examiners and centers and initiate necessary measures in case of identified deficiencies
• You assess the aeromedical fitness of pilots, air traffic controllers, and cabin crew members and prepare aeromedical reports as needed
• You create second opinions for unclear or inconclusive initial aeromedical assessments
• You review applications for the approval of aeromedical training courses, examine training materials, and conduct information events, training sessions, and professional development programs
• You participate in administrative procedures, including the preparation of official decisions, and support the implementation of European legal regulations, standards, and procedural requirements in the field
• You represent Austro Control in national and international committees, collaborate with EASA and ICAO, and contribute to audits, regulatory frameworks, and the further development of aeromedical processes

Your Profile

• You have completed a medical degree, including the Ius Practicandi (license to practice medicine)
• You have extensive experience in aeromedical practice and have been or currently are a Class 1 and/or 3 aeromedical examiner (flight experience is an advantage)
• You bring knowledge or practical experience in aviation or flight medicine. Flight experience is an advantage
• You possess in-depth knowledge of national, European, and international regulations for aeromedical fitness assessments, as well as knowledge of Austrian administrative law
• You have knowledge of quality and audit management, as well as process and project management, and work in a structured, meticulous, and independent manner
• You stand out due to high social and communication skills, service orientation, integrity, discretion, loyalty, resilience, and teamwork abilities
• You have excellent English skills and proficient MS Office application knowledge. You are also willing to develop professionally and personally and to undertake business trips both domestically and abroad
