As Department Manager for Traction Control, you will support the Head of Traction and the Board of Rail Cargo Austria AG in implementing the Group and company objectives, and you will be responsible for the cross-border management of the transport network, international operational train and shipment monitoring, the entire
deviation management for all train products of the Rail Cargo Group, customer information, and ensuring quality and productivity on national and international transport routes/relations or for defined products.

- be responsible for implementing full train orders, including track allocation requests at ÖBB-INFRA and, if necessary, at DB Netz, as well as for the disposition of traction vehicles and drivers for all trains whose resources are used across borders.
- be responsible for cross-border locomotive monitoring, including monitoring and prioritisation of international traction vehicle deployments/rotations with special requirements (e.g., energy meters/safety systems), including defining measures in case of deviations.
- optimise planned and day-to-day international traction vehicle deployments/rotations according to existing weekly programmes or short-term/ad-hoc changes in cooperation with internal and external carriers.
- receive reports of traction vehicle damage (unserviceable/partially serviceable) and initiate replacement measures, ensuring that vehicles are sent to workshops in accordance with the maintenance intervals defined by the vehicle owner.
- be responsible for cross-border documentation of traction vehicle mileage, including monitoring the correct entry of performance data (mileage) for international deployments in production systems, as well as documenting traction vehicle resource deficiencies.
- be responsible for cross-border status and quality reporting, including the interface with RCG management.
- prepare daily situation reports and document operational irregularities and business unit-specific production performance.
- support the Traction Management in further developing the fundamental functioning, processes, organisational and communication structure of the Traction unit, and in this context, participate in the associated continuous improvement processes (CIP).
Your profile, you...
- have several years of professional experience in the railway sector, particularly in operations, train preparation, or comparable areas. Alternatively, you bring extensive experience from a similarly complex, operationally focused environment.
