To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated, motivated, and experienced Senior Platform Engineer for Data Integration (m/f/d). The focus will be on the technical advancement, automation, and architecture of business-critical integration platforms based on IBM webMethods.
Your role, you will...
- jointly with the Product Team, be responsible for the technical advancement of two central data integration platforms.
- actively shape the technical roadmap of the integration platforms and support the Product Owner in architecture, technology, and platform decisions.
- develop and operate integration solutions based on IBM webMethods (API Gateway, API Management, Integration Server, ESB, Universal Messaging, and Managed File Transfer).
- implement, configure, and optimize APIs, integration services, and platform components for various business areas and corporate applications.
- analyze technical requirements and translate them into robust, secure, and scalable platform solutions.
- collaborate closely with system architects, service managers, business units, and external partners, and support the product teams in implementing new integration requirements and connecting new systems and business partners.
- accompany architecture reviews, platform upgrades, and migrations within the data integration environment, ensuring that technical solutions meet requirements for performance, availability, security, and governance.
- implement automation for deployment, configuration, and operations using modern DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches.
- analyze complex incidents, performance issues, and technical bottlenecks, and derive sustainable improvement measures.
Your profile, you have...
- a completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification.
- several years of practical experience as a Platform Engineer, Integration Engineer, Solution Engineer, or Software Engineer in the field of enterprise integration platforms.
- profound technical expertise in IBM webMethods and practical experience with several of the following components:
- API Gateway
- API Management
- API Portal
- Integration Server
- Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
- Universal Messaging (UM)
- Managed File Transfer (MFT)

- experience in developing and operating API-based integration solutions (REST, SOAP) and service-oriented architectures.
- a good understanding of modern integration and architecture concepts, as well as API governance and API security.
- ideally, familiarity with Kafka, event-driven architectures, or change data capture technologies, and experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Infrastructure as Code.
- knowledge of Linux, middleware, networks, security, and enterprise platform operations.
