The Presidium of the Supervisory Board of ÖBB-Holding AG announces that, in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Service Appointments Act (Stellenbesetzungsgesetz), Federal Law Gazette I No. 26/1998 as amended, the executive board position of "COO" at ÖBB-Holding AG is now open for applications.

The ÖBB Group is Austria’s modern mobility company. Each year, we transport over 500 million passengers and approximately 79 million tonnes of goods on a rail network spanning around 5,000 kilometres with over 1,000 stations. Our ambition is to inspire our customers with our mobility services.
This is made possible by over 46,000 dedicated employees in rail and bus services – together with more than 2,000 apprentices. Digitalisation, innovation, and active generational management shape our ongoing transformation.

The unified strategic direction of the ÖBB sub-groups is the responsibility of ÖBB-Holding AG, in accordance with § 4 of the Federal Railways Act as amended.

The executive board position now open for applications represents ÖBB-Holding AG internally and externally as Chief Operating Officer and, within the framework of the Group’s management function, coordinates and steers the rail production process across the ÖBB Group.

Furthermore, the COO function assumes responsibility for the Group divisions of System Technology & Group Production as well as Strategic Group IT Management within ÖBB-Holding AG.

We are seeking a compelling leadership personality with extensive Group experience, who, in addition to a long-standing top management role, possesses proven expertise and experience in comparable governance functions within the railway sector. Solid leadership experience in the mobility industry and infrastructure sector is required, as well as knowledge of national and European legal standards in the railway sector and an understanding of the key legal frameworks related to sustainability issues and associated corporate responsibilities.

We expect profound experience in the strategic management of IT/OT organisations within large, complex Group structures, particularly in IT governance, digitalisation, information security (NIS-2, KREG), as well as data and architecture management.

In addition to a solid university-level education, you will impress with holistic, entrepreneurial thinking, a results- and implementation-driven approach, values-based leadership, a focus on innovation, and a strong commitment to sustainability. Furthermore, we require competencies in implementing diversity and equality, as well as high social, intercultural, and communication skills.
