Our client is an Austrian educational provider. For the development of a new textbook for the compulsory subject "Geography, History, and Civic Education including Basic Economics" (GGPB) at Higher Technical Colleges (HTLs), we are seeking a professionally qualified author on a freelance basis.

• Writing clear, professionally sound, and target-group-appropriate textbook chapters and supplementary teaching materials based on the Austrian HTL curriculum
• Developing competence-oriented tasks at varying levels of difficulty – from analysis and application to well-founded judgment formation
• Creating practice-oriented, HTL-specific approaches, particularly at the intersections of technology, economics, society, and the working world
• Revising contributions based on editorial feedback, expert reviews, and, if applicable, market feedback
• Ongoing coordination with the editorial team, project management, and other authors

• Completed relevant degree or teaching degree, for example in Geography, History, Civic Education, Social Studies, Economics, or Economic Education
• Excellent knowledge of the Austrian education system and competence-oriented teaching; experience at an HTL or another vocational secondary school (BHS) is an advantage
• Experience with operators, material-based work, and the development of competence-oriented tasks
• Ability to present complex topics in a professionally accurate, concise, and target-group-appropriate manner
• Sensitivity to controversy, multiperspectivity, and professional balance
• Enjoyment of writing as well as a reliable, structured, and deadline-oriented working style
• Openness to feedback and constructive collaboration with the editorial team, project management, and other authors
