- Full Time
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to join our Cyber Security – Identify & Protect (I&P) team as a Security Architect. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the network security architecture of ÖBB (both at macro and micro levels) and ensure that our critical infrastructure is protected at the highest security standards. You will work closely with Cyber Security Engineering, Solution Architects, and the network and infrastructure teams at ÖBB.
Your role, you will...

- create architecture concepts, decision-making foundations, blueprints, and justifications for security-relevant network topics.
- evaluate solution and architecture proposals regarding security impacts and requirements (Zero Trust, Micro-Segmentation, Secure Access Service Edge, and more), dependencies, and sustainable feasibility.
- research and integrate new technologies and solutions into the existing network security landscape (e.g., SD-WAN, Cloud Network Security, NDR – Network Detection & Response).
- advise internal stakeholders (infrastructure, application development) on all network security matters and act as the subject matter authority on security architecture.
- closely coordinate with adjacent architecture, operations, and cyber security teams and incorporate network and security aspects into decision-making and governance processes.
- accompany projects from the concept phase to go-live and ensure that security requirements are considered from the outset in network and infrastructure projects (Security by Design).
- support the definition of security standards, guidelines, and procedures for network infrastructure and their compliance.
- conduct security assessments and architecture reviews and derive concrete measures and improvements in collaboration with IS risk management.
Your profile, you...
- have completed higher education (IT Security, Computer Science, or Business Informatics with a focus on IT Security) or possess comparable professional experience in the IT security field.
- bring knowledge in IT architecture, network environments, cyber security, service design, or IT-related coordination.
- understand IT networks and can professionally assess architecture and security aspects without being responsible for detailed design or implementation.
- have experience in developing concepts, decision-making foundations, or architecture documentation.
- are accustomed to being the point of contact for clients and stakeholders and handling inquiries in a structured manner.
- are familiar with cloud network security (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and hybrid architectures and understand the challenges of multi-cloud environments.
- ideally hold recognized certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, PCNSE (Palo Alto), GIAC (GCIA, GCIH), or comparable qualifications.
