Transport Dispatcher (m/f/d) – Tank and Silo Transport in the Hazardous Goods Sector

Tulln Area | Operational Dispatch | Development into an Independent Area of Responsibility

For a well-established Austrian transport company, we are looking to strengthen our existing dispatch team with a Transport Dispatcher (m/f/d) who has completed vocational training in freight forwarding and has initial relevant professional experience.

You will initially work closely with an experienced senior dispatcher and gradually take on an independent area of responsibility.

Important: General commercial experience, production/industrial dispatch, taxi/passenger dispatch, or pure supply chain experience do not replace the required freight forwarding background.

Your Responsibilities

  • Gradual takeover of the dispatch for part of a fleet of around 30 tank and silo vehicles
  • Planning and optimizing routes, taking into account drivers, vehicles, loads, as well as cleaning and service cycles
  • Ongoing coordination with drivers, customers, warehouse staff, carriers, and partner companies
  • GPS tracking and telematics monitoring of routes
  • Support in coordinating subcontractors and carriers
  • Involvement in adhering to environmental, quality, and safety regulations
  • Gradual takeover of an independent area of responsibility in collaboration with the senior dispatcher

Your Profile

  • Completed vocational training in freight forwarding, particularly as a Freight Forwarding Clerk or Freight Forwarding Logistics Specialist, or a directly comparable relevant qualification
  • Initial professional experience in operational transport or truck dispatch, ideally 1–3 years after completing your training
  • Understanding of road freight transport, route planning, as well as driver and vehicle dispatch
  • German language skills at least at C1 level
  • Good IT skills and affinity for digital dispatch, tracking, and telematics systems
  • Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented way of working
  • Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a hands-on mentality

Experience with tank, silo, liquid goods, or hazardous goods transport is an advantage but not a requirement.

Location and Working Arrangements

We are looking for employees for whom regular presence at the company location in the Tulln area is feasible. The role is performed exclusively on-site due to the close collaboration with dispatch, drivers, and the fleet. The exact location will be provided during the further application process.

This position is particularly suitable for candidates who, after completing their freight forwarding training and gaining initial professional experience, want to take the next step in their development and grow into an independent transport dispatcher under the guidance of an experienced senior dispatcher.

Our Offer

  • Thorough onboarding by an experienced senior dispatcher
  • Clear development perspective into an independent dispatch and area of responsibility
  • Intensive onboarding and regular training
  • Modern work equipment and digital dispatch and telematics systems
  • Collegial working environment with short decision-making paths
  • Future-proof workplace
  • Discounted fuel purchases via the company filling station
  • Support with a required relocation
  • Annual gross salary starting from EUR 40,600, with willingness to pay above this based on qualifications and experience

Do you have vocational training in freight forwarding and initial experience in operational truck/transport dispatch and want to take the next professional development step? If you are interested in this challenging position, we look forward to receiving your meaningful application under reference number 105 858, preferably via our ISG career portal or by email.
