Master Thesis

The advancement of modern measurement technologies opens up diverse opportunities for sophisticated testing and analysis systems in the automotive industry as well as in other sectors such as rail transport, marine technology, and energy supply. Novel measurement and manufacturing technologies (e.g., quantum-based current measurement, AI-supported data evaluation, spectroscopy, additive manufacturing, flexible electronics) hold significant potential to enhance the performance of existing test solutions (e.g., battery and hydrogen measurement technology) and enable future innovative systems. The focus is on applying one or more innovative technologies to develop, design, implement, and test new measurement and testing concepts in a laboratory environment.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Development of innovative concepts and solutions
• Multiphysics simulation / analytical calculation of the design
• Implementation and construction of demonstrators (prototypes)
• Testing of components / systems in the laboratory (location: Graz)
• Evaluation of laboratory and simulation results in the field (location: Graz)

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active studies in Mechanical Engineering, Technical Physics, or Electrical Engineering
• Basic knowledge in sensor technology and additive manufacturing
• Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD system
• Basic knowledge in CFD is an advantage
• Structured and independent working style
• Good command of German and English
• For laboratory activities: Presence in Graz required
