IT System Engineer – Compute Services

Nature and aim of the position

We are looking for a new member in the central IT department which is responsible for the design, implementation and operation of centralized IT systems and IT infrastructure at Global Blue. This includes businesses critical production environments as well as internally used back-office IT services.

Embedded in a small team of experienced system engineers the holder of the position will assume responsibility for selected services within the portfolio.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Assume role of lead engineer for selected IT services
• Operate, patch and monitor
• Design, deploy, upgrade and update documentation
• Act as backup engineer for other IT services
• Support main engineer
• Substitute during leave of main engineer
• Provide second level support for all general IT services within our portfolio, specifically:
• Microsoft Windows Server & Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS
• Active Directory Domain Services
• VMware virtual environment
• Follow ITSM policies for change, incident, and problem management
• Adhere to the strict company security policies and guidelines

Requirements

• Education and profile
• University degree in IT or related field or equivalent practical experience in similar position
• Min. 3 years of professional experience as IT System Engineer
• Programming and scripting knowledge (PowerShell)
• Good understanding of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (MS SCOM) or at least 4 of the technical areas below:
• Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems
• Azure
• BizTalk, RabbitMQ
• Splunk
• VMware
• Veeam Backup
• Citrix Virtual Apps
• Big-IP F5 load balancer
• Enterprise class storage systems (FC, iSCSI, synchronous copy, virtualization)
• Good understanding of IP networking, OSI layers and protocols.
• Good understanding IT security best practices and TLS encryption mechanisms.
• Desirable: ITIL certification
• Desirable: basic database know how of either Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, or Oracle
• Fluent in English both oral & written , German language - advantage

Our compensation package is significantly above the stated minimum salary of € 30,176.02 +++ gross annual!
